Here is my 55 Crown Vic. My Great Uncle bought it new, then in the early 60's he gave it to an other uncle, who gave it to an other uncle in the late 60's, who gave it to his daughter in the 80's, who gave it to my father 4 years ago, who I got it from when he died 3 years ago........ It's stock.... 60k on it when I got it.
Anyone know what disc brakes and power steering would work for me with the least amount of fabrication??
Nice car. Just bought it off the guy you sold it to. Plan to go through the whole car, mostly mechanical upgrades and a few body modifications.
50Fraud;that 55 is PERFECT!!!! The headlight treatment really cleans up the front!!That is the best looking 55 I've ever seen!! ROY.
Thanks very much. It's actually a '56 disguised as a '55; the low hardtop roof wasn't used on the non-Crown Victoria until '56.
Here is my 55 Club Sedan. Shaved bumpers, hood & trunk. Lowered 2 inches. Rebuilt 272 is on the way in. Can't wait to hit the street! Enjoy seeing all your stuff!
Thanks for your comment. Lowered with coil overs on all four corners and 2 inch blocks between the rear springs and the axle housing in the rear and 2 inch channel between the front tables and spring plate. It gives it a good flat line and doesn't bottom out. Be careful with the rear wheels and tires....difficult to get into and to remove from the wheel wells.
I had this one about 12 years ago,I stuck a 302 down in it but thats as far as I got before trading it to a running driving 68 caprice that I later nearly gave away. My wife said this car gave her the creeps sitting in our back yard where she had to pass by it before daylight to go to work every morning. My daughter obviously wasnt scared tho
My Meteor.....I miss this thing, cleveland and a four gear.....she loved doing third gear foot brake burnouts!
Here is my 55 sunliner,it will get painted in one shade of the original color after the Y block goes back in.
I just found this thread...WOW! My all time favourite cars are 55-56's, and i've owned so many I cant remember them all. My 56 Town Sedan was originally bought in my hometown of Medicine Hat, Alberta, at Central Motors. My Dad remembers seeing it race around the local high school. Then, it was parked in a back yard in 1970 where it sat. I remember riding my bike 5 blocks from home as an 8yr old in 1985, crawling up the fence, and peering at it as it sat in the yard with a weathered "NOT FOR SALE" sign in the window. I said, one day i'm going to own that car. In 1996, through an estate sale, I was able to buy it. I painted it in 2001, but disassembled it in 2008 to replace the rusty front crossmember, and have redone all the chassis and 302 engine since, along with a bit of customizing along the way. The other 'pink' 56 is the 2-door I've inherited from my Dad. He bought it from the original owner in '72.It runs a 302 as well, and will one day be redone in a different paint scheme. The Sunset Coral and black crown I painted for my buddy, and the 55 Meteor is one my dad bought last year and i'm doing some bodywork touch ups on it.
I've got a 56 Victoria 292 3 on the tree.I just got it.its in gray primer right now.I just painted the dash.plans call for a mild kustom.
