I have 3 modern drivers and 8 fun cars. Most are done and registered/insured. 1 is getting closer to being done. It's very difficult finding time to work on and drive them all so I've come to the conclusion that something has to go. It seems every other week I'm paying for registration or insurance. Space is always a problem too. I usually have seven cars in a 4 car garage.....one at the parent's house and one at the mother in law's.

You need battery tenders or you'll keep killing batteries. I've also noticed modern fuels do not like to sit...even with additives.

Cars are like screw drivers or 9/16 wrenches, you can have enough of them, but never too many!

Two daily drivers for me, wife and hauling my 2 boys and my '49 Ford coupe. I had a '50 convertible as well, but sold it to concentrate on one project at a time. Two reasons I don't have more: space, time and money. Project cars are easier to accumulate, finished cars, are more difficult. I have 10x what I paid for my coupe in it and it's not finished yet. Two project cars for me meant neither got finished. I guess everyone is different, but for me I'd rather have my coupe done the way I want it than 5 project cars with 4 in storage costing me fees. I will get something else when my coupe is done. I think 3-4 finished cars is plenty given we have 7 months of crappy weather up here and 24/7 grid lock in the city. It's -20F or -29C with the wind chill out tonight.

And do tell, how did you escape the trap? What's the secret? You have the winning combo here but it seems so hard.

  13. Depends on who you ask.......

    31 Ford pickup
    33 Ford coupe
    36 Ford sedan
    40 Ford coupe
    56 Chevy pickup
    40's Sprint car
    77 Bronco
    3 ot late models

  14. 31 coupe

    53 Chevy 3100
    79 CJ-5 (2.5 ton)
    87 GMC shortwide

I have too many a few are on their way out. I don't have the time to address each so to me that is too many. I like to have a purpose for each car if multiple cars have same purpose I let em go.

My problem is I have too much room to store them

    On the road -
    23 track roadster
    model A tudor (avatar)
    26 Ford roadster (restored)

    Projects -
    Chopped Henry J
    37 Simca (same as Topolino)
    15 Ford speedster
    36 International panel

Now that I'm old, I have more time/money but way less energy. Somebody shoulda warned me!!

  16. I'm in the same boat with having to much room, I can space them out and hide them on the property.

    -1918 dodge roadster
    -1919 dodge roadster
    -1929 model A business coupe
    -1953 dodge B4B pickup
    -1960 F100 4x4
    -1963 dodge D200
    -1965 Coronet 440
    -1970 D200
    -1976 scout
    -2005 Wrangler
Out of that list only 3 are driveable. I know I have to much...but I don't care.
