I have been a CAR GUY all my life. At age 61, I have had a LOT of neat, cool, desirable cars and trucks.
    As a general rule ...
when I sell them, I am DONE with them.
    :)

I would like to have my 56 F-100 big window back ... but I am not really hunting it or trying to find it.

I also had a light yellow 56 F-100 big window. I had a RED 56 F-100 big window also. Would love to buy another 56 F-100 big window and build it as a tribute/clone of the ones I had before. This one would be A LOT better than the others hopefully. I have learned a few things since I had those.

    :D

Neil Young's "This Old Guitar" sums up my philosophy of old cars. You can't keep 'em all and most of them will still be here when we're gone. We're just building them, enjoying them and keeping them up for someone else.

    "This Old Guitar"

This old guitar ain't mine to keep
Just taking care of it now
It's been around for years and years
Just waiting in its old case
It's been up and down the country roads
    It's brought a tear and a smile
It's seen its share of dreams and hopes
And never went out of style
The more I play it, the better it sounds
It cries when I leave it alone
    Silently it waits for me
    Or someone else I suppose

    This old guitar
    This old guitar
    This old guitar

This old guitar has caught some breaks
But it never searched for gold
It can't be blamed for my mistakes
It only does what it's told
It's been a messenger in times of trouble
In times of hope and fear
When I get drunk and seeing double
It jumps behind the wheel and steers

This old guitar ain't mine to keep
It's mine to play for a while
This old guitar ain't mine to keep
It's only mine for a while

    This old guitar
    This old guitar

I found my Kaiser back from high school. Perfect car, needed a motor. Was chopped into pieces to build a convertable.

Having owned over 200 cars since I graduated high school there isn't room to list the ones I would like back. My '66 SS396 is/was the ONLY new car I've ever bought. I soon learned to have a truely neat car that is personal you have to build it. I found that making car payments and modifying the car made little sense when I ended up with so much money in something that would have cost me less if i hadn't started with something new. Besides I never saw a new car that had any SOUL but there is something about a car that has paid it's dues, it just speaks to you, even if it's something your not particularly interested in.

I too have owned hundreds of cars, of all the cars I would say the Gold 66 Fairlane was by far the most fun and do wish I had kept it. The 68 Mustang fastback was my first car and miss it every time I see one. My wife loved the 64 Galaxie convertible. If I owned a few hundred acres in the country I would have kept them all. And everyone would be writing about me as the ol guy that won't sell any of those old cars, what is he going to do with all of them anyway......

I'm homesick for my 1936 Olds 2 door slantback sedan. It was box stock and ran great. I saw it for sale again at Pomona many years ago, and would like to get it back. I also wonder where my 56 Chevy panel truck (327, auto, 6 lug centerlines etc) is.

i would really love to have my dads 70 chevelle. it was his daily driver until i was 4. the only memory i have is him doing a burnout while i stood in the front seat, i think i was 4 years old. he sold it to his best friend who let it sit outside in his yard for over a decade then put it inside and has not touched it. if i even bring it up in conversation he talks about all the plans hes got for it. infuriating to say the least.

Not looking but had a '61 Buick bubble top Le Sabre, one owner 98,000 mile car with a 401 in it seven years ago. Everything worked accept the lighter and windshield washer pump. The car drove like a Cadillac. Business slowed and had to sell it. Miss that car.

Uug I hate to talk about it. It was a 34 5 window coupe and I was 16,you know how stupid a 16yr old can be. Sold it for $30 I would love to have another one,but cost would be prohibative I`m sure.
