I just love jamming gears in something that's snarly, nasty and loud. I have to reel my tendencies back or nothing will have a range of over 25 miles.

This will be on a 496 big block hopefully later this year. Going into a 1940 chevy truck. 400268370_7226255957398628_6099149759845189118_n.jpg 400441392_7226257160731841_1776603987907044446_n.jpg

Here's the cab. I have the gear vendor overdrive. Tubing for frame. Bed and front wheels. Still gathering parts. Engine is next on list then rear end.
Going fender less. 10 point cage. Plan on doing some racing.
800 horsepower should be enough to make me smile. IMG_20230318_141736.jpg

I just bought back a street brawler that I built in the early 90's that my brother and I played with quite a bit. Anyway, it is a little too new for here, but sure is fun and hard to keep your foot out of.

I remember seeing the car when I first met you. I bought some parts from you, when you and Sid were sharing shop space.

Yep, it was kinda always just shoved in the corner of the shop especially when the kids were young. Not sure why I bought it back to be honest other than I feel like a kid again when I stomp the gas pedal. :D

    Because you need it.

  15. I don't really think I ever lost the "Itch" to drive a street brawler, but recently the itch has gotten much stronger!:D

For the last 6 or so years, the only thing I had that satisfied my acceleration need was the OT XLR-V (12.7 from the factory), but it is way too easy to drive. Then I bought Stubby (pictured below ) a couple of months ago. Now I am all the way back & recently reached out to a good friend of mine to come out sometime next week to help me reset the motor plates further back on the Morrison chassis of my original car (OT) with the hopes of street brawling with it again after MANY years!

    God Bless

LOL! Yea, that's not it... However, the stress relief can be needed at times. :)

Between my wife's yellow roadster and our black Model A coupe, we've got a couple fairly fast street toys that get street raced from stop light to stop light on occasion. I've got a 55 that I'm putting a 427 BBC in and a 4 speed to play with as well.

I know getting ready to go get it.

  20. LOL in the late 90s I had an 11second mini to work rain, snow, ice, hot and dry. Nothing left of that truck but the motor, nothing special like the monsters everyone is posting.

Wait I was wrong. The @raven has the tranny in his roadster.

I may eventually stuff the motor in the wife's 40. She'll get bored with the vette motor soon enough. LOL

427FE, CR T10 4sp, 4.56 gears, 7mpg. It's noisy, hot inside; it drives, steers and stops like a 1964 car. I decided to that I'd never drive it in the wet with those bias ply tyres. It's more than enough for this retiree. 382259868_857136575639630_1577192047000785141_n.jpg

Some of the power adder cars would more than likely handle your T-bolt, but something about a n/a brawler that is much more cooler. Just my worthless 2 cents.

Built this '40 (with '37 Pass. front sheetmetal) back in the '90s. Scary fast, but squirrelly:eek: Never got it to properly hook up:( b40a.jpg

  26. Squirrelly = Fun
Sometimes the cars that are the most fun are not necessarily the fastest cars in the stable. For example, we have 2 327 cars, one is OT two ways. Year of manufacture and engine family. The wife's coupe is only a 300 horse motor. I think I can bump it to one pony per inch without much effort. It will be a little edgy to say the least. The other 327 (actually I think it is 326) will out run it and makes a whole lot more zot than the coupe. The coupe will be the most fun to drive.

I'll take a few seconds slower on the big end any day for fun. I like fun. ;)

Agreed! A real fast car that sort of drives itself isn’t near as much fun. I have buddies that bought dragsters that went straight as an arrow and were way faster than the door slammer that they replaced. But, they missed the effort of driving the squirrelly car…. I’ll just stick with squirrelly and not worry about just how fast it really is. :D

  28. I can make one stand up and cut a straight line. But that's racin and its only done 1340 feet at a time.

A streeter is an entirely different beast
