Thanks b29chevy - I'm looking forward to it. I didn't realize it was going to be technical either. It's always good to learn something new.

  7. My '50 Fleetline came with a '56 235, runs pretty good when it's getting gas, I see no reason to mess with it. It needs too much other help ...

Man that's sweet. Hydraulic lifters in the '54?

No kidding about cruising at 80. Those big sixes love to pull and 80 seems like no problem to them.

I'm running a 223 in my '64 Ford Tudor. Right now I'm scrounging some go-fast parts for it. Also, I was offered this '61 Falcon Tudor longroof for $800 delivered to my house in Ohio from Tulsa today. The 170 runs good according to my friend and the body is pretty solid. I'm thinking it over tonight, but I'll likely buy it...:)

Well I know its not the typical inline, but i think thats what makes it kool, its a 1967 Pontiac Sprint 6, Overhead Cam, with 5 carbs, all stuffed in my 28 Ford sedan.

No stovebolts for me, but all my engines are inlines right now.

I've got a 292 in my shop truck
An inline 4 cylinder flathead in my Ford tractor
2 Dodge trucks with Cummins 6 cylinder diesels.

Another Flat 6 in the MOPAR family. this a 30 over 56 230 with milled head decked block, and 2 singles on a Fenton intake.

    Thanks for your reply.

By the way, I don't think that's a 292 front water housing on that engine. It should have a bypass hose coming off of it.

    Oh, yeah, me!

I guess that I don't actually have a stovebolt, but I've got a few speed parts set back in case I ever use a 235 or 261 in anything.

I do have the following inlines:
    '39 Chevy 2-door w/ a GMC 302"
    '66 Mustang Fastback w/ a 200"
    '34 Huppmobile w/ stock engine (non-running)
    '96 Volvo 960 w/ a 2.9L 12 port
plus some assorted Chevy 250"s and a 292" for projects.

    Later, Kinky6

Man I love this thread. Really opens up a relatively young one's (like me) eyes up as to the different choices of engines out there.

  25. Now if I could only figure out how to post a pic.

Here is my Dodge 230 Flathead 6 with cast iron headers and dual Smittys. Next will be a Tattersfield head and intake with dual B&B carbs. Note to self: do not use NAPA hi-temp paint again, and put the hood back on the coupe.

Original 216 (conveted to 12v) in my '52 coupe... Fenton headers/dual exhaust going on this weekend and a two-barrel carb is next on the list...
