Got the original 216 in my '37 chevy flatbed. Just got it and don't have pics yet. Runs good but I want to change out the tranny and rear end. Will a 350 or 400 auto tranny adapt on to the 216? If not, I'll put in a 250. I got to go faster than 45mph!

  3. This lives in my '37 Chev.
216 ci of throbbing gristle, good for 50 MPH with a tail wind.

  4. ...runnin a 230 Chev in my 48 Arosedan, have run lots of 230/250's in old Chevy cars & trucks over the years, They are very dependable. Thinkin bout runnin a 292 Chev inline in my next project, a 48 Ford flatbed. The purr of a six is pure beauty.

  5. stock 170 in my econoline. redone head, electronic ignit conversion and 1 into 2 exhaust. sounds kinda good with two glasspacks. 20 mpg. we call the exhaust splitter the steel uterus!
