    Merry Christmas

I've got a '51 331 extended bell housing that came out of a 34 drag car built in the late 50's early 60's

It's got some interesting and odd work done to it. Maybe someone can shed some light on. It's got Jahn's pistons, solid lifter cam, adjustable pushrods, alloy flywheel. Backed up by a lasalle 3 speed with an early hurst shifter. All pretty standard. Heads are stock early 331
The bottom end is a little odd, it's a standard crank and rods but the big end journal has been ground from 2.25 stock to 2.15, I guess to stroke it a bit. the rod eye has been opened out and each pair of rods runs on a single fully floating bearing.

Can any one shed any light on what this was aiming to achieve, I'm new to hemi' and this is old tech tuning

Here's my '29 model a Sport Coupe with a '52 Desoto 276 hemi mocked up. I may be putting the motor up for sale though. It's set up from sitting for 40+ years. Anyone interested in it?

KFC the smaller journals are better suited to higher RPMs because the surface of the journal is moving slower for a given RPM than a larger journal which makes it easier on the bearing the crank and the oil film between them. It also makes the crank a bit lighter. Looks like you may have some old flathead bearings there. Hope that helps some. Merry Christmas

Here is mine, 354 with 6-71 used a set of new blower pistons from a 70s fuel motor. They came with Mickey Thompson aluminum rods ,but didn’t want to trust them so I went with new h beams it is a lot of fun[IMG][IMG]

Realizing this post has some age to it, Thought I'd ask if you have any parts available. I am assisting a cousin that has limited internet skills to find parts for a an funny car restoration. He's looking for a horizontal mag drive that appears to being driven off cam but appears to be offset from archive photos. He thinks it was a Milodon. Believe he is also looking for a blower manifold for same Boss 429. Let me know, although a long-shot. Thanks!,
