my first time down there...had a great time. Lots of cool rods. Maybe next year, I'll get to take a car...
Finally got to make it a 4 day event. In the past I always was trying to finish "something"....Had a great weekend....drove the fendered coupe on the rain days and brought out the hard core coupe for Sat/Sun....finally getting some "catch up sleep".... Great Roundup!!! Skot
Leslie and I had a blast hangin out with all of you. My wife rode home 7 hours with Mrs. Flat-Top in the Buick, that pretty much made my whole trip worth it. You WILL NOT find better people than Root and his wife, Jeff, and Mr and Mrs Flat Top. I will never forget my first Roundup.
I forgot to thank the Kontinentals for putting on a great event. Reggie it was great meeting your wife and seeing you again, I will have to make the Garage crawl next year.
Hahaha! Thanks Reggie! When I saw you, you mentioned that you had one, but I wasn't sure if you had it on you or not because you didn't hand me one at the time. Luckily I didn't need that spare after all. I really appreciate you going out of your way to find that for me though. Linda and I were both saying how much of a top notch guy you are. Thanks Reggie!
We made it. I was a little unsure if the Fairlane would get us there and back because of some transmission issues. We ALMOST didn't bring it this year because of that. At the last minute, I threw every spare part I had in the trunk and we headed out with my wife and very jazzed kids. In the usual hot rod twist of irony, I had carb problems and fuel pump problems. The trany did fine with the exception of a leak! Fortunately, I had a carb kit in the trunk and the fuel pump didn't start acting up until we were about halfway home and I was able to get us back before it died (although it did force us to byp*** the Czech Stop for the first time in 5 years!). The spare parts also came in handy for another car in our group, too. We got a call about an hour north of Austin and one of the cars in our group that left after us had fallen back quite a bit. He had melted a couple of plug wires that fell onto his exhaust manifold. For some reason, I had thrown an old set in the trunk when I did my last tuneup, so we circled back, swapped the wires and got him back on the road. The Sunday of the Roundup always feels like graduation day. It's a weird combination of reflection on a great weekend and sadness that we have to go back to the real world. This was our 5th Roundup and easily one of the best. Good times!
I was there, drove down and entered in my '51 Pontiac my buddy drove up as well in his 56 F-1. Had a great time meet some nice people Danny, Bob, Chainsaw it was allll good. Thanks to everyone involved for the kick *** show.
I thought your A was cool... especially when I saw it all in pieces at the show...! Nice meeting both of you...!
Haha! Thanks for talking with us. Great looking A's you built in the picture you showed me! I'll hopefully be in the coupe or (ambitiously) the roadster next year! If I build it out of less parts then that's less to worry about! It was great meeting you!
I was there for 4 days having a non stop blast. Didn't get back on the HAMB for a week after I was (am?) so busy. Great meeting so many old (and new) friends. And a special thanks to Jerry, Norm and Bob for the rides. I will be back! Dennis
Yep it was awsome, even with Dennis in the back seat. I put 3048 miles on without any trouble, the 52 just keeps getting better and better. BB
I made it with my wife and daughter. We had a great time and plan on comming back. Thanks! Jack of the Cheaters
