Hi from Rebecca in Acton, MA. Rodder wanabe (perhaps this summer I will find a good project - always looking). I have a 58 Desoto and a 50 Buick. Some of you might know who I am - the one who takes too many car event pictures and posts them on the web:

    http://www.pangalacticconsortium.com/cars/cars.htm

See you in the spring. I would be cool to have a Mass HAMB meet sometime.

  2. It wouldn't take much to make that Buick a kustom!

  6. Hello back to you Rebecca.
    Welcome to the H.A.M.B.
You'll find it very helpful in resurecting the Buick and the DeSoto.
You'll find all sorts of tips from people wth similiar rides and also you can network for parts for those cars as well.
Without the H.A.M.B. I would be "screwed blue" in attempting to rebuild my '53 Lincoln and my pair of crappy old Fords.
It's great to have another Massachusetts person aboard and yes I agree with you about forming a gathering of local H.A.M.B.ers in the spring.
Maybe would could organize a nice cruise to Riley's, "Amherst", Bill & Bob's , or even New England Dragway in the spring.
Lets see the wheels spin on that Buick real soon Rebecca!

With an appraisal of the car in current condition , showing its true value, you probably could get some kind of abatement. I know a guy up your way (Peabody) who does appraisals that could fight for you I bet (we do them but only as a part of the business- he has a full time business that does them)

I am in Freetown. Wouldn't mind seeing some of the rides from the area for ideas and could use some help locating a model a for my build.

Since we are all from MA and dealing with the same problems regarding our classic cars and rods lets bring this back up. I had posted the below information in a previous post regarding dmv nightmares here on the hamb. If we don't start making some noise over these issues the state will continue to treat our hobby unfairly.

Fairhaven is my home for about 3-6 months every year, and if not for that i wouldn't have my 31 model A project to work on down here. Once i get it running hopefully it will be up there 3-6 months also.
