I'm in the same situation as deuce roadster--fixed income and retired-was also looking at property but at 66, I don't need long term gains either--just brought my 57 Fuely home today-already spent alot of $$$ so I have enough in parts, etc. to keep me busy for some time-need about $6K to finish but just did a kitchen remodel so I'll just save up and take my time.
It has slowed me but not because of money. I'm making far more money than in the past ten years but I am on the road all the time pipelineing. Good money just no home time.
been doing some mounting brackets and such is all - but just got a new job that starts Monday, so I hope to get back at it just as soon as we get caught up - hope the rest of the Hambers that are going through this rough patch can get things worked out to get going again too - Jaxx
I switched to bodywork, 'cause it's more labor-intensive and less costly. -Of course, in a year or so, I'll have to pay somebody competent to fix what I'm doing now...
I've always operated with little or no money so it's still business as usual for me. Borrow here, trade there, wait a month or two to get crucial parts, it's all I know how to do.
haven't been able to do much of anything at all, waiting on money to finish my SU's, car hasn't moved out of my garage in 2.5 years. just doing what i can. sat so long the tires went bad.
