And left it to rot ?This pile of veteran nuts and bolts fetched 91500 GB Pounds at auction. Six times estimated value .So next time you come across and old skeleton out in the bush or hanging from the rafters don,t be hasty and shrug it of because it,s not a '32 or '34 Ford 3 window. Reminds me of when i was a 16 year old kid in Australia. An old farmer near us had a 1929 NASH sedan that had been standing outside for decades. After lots of nagging on my part he gave it to me for free. In his old cool store he had a 1906 or so Renault runabout completely dismantled and hanging on the wall. Never did get that one. BTW, Came across this item at www.prewarcar.com
that is very cool..I think i would have to leave that just the way it is and hang it on my wall..or better yet get it running and race Denise on her Go-cart with it
when you find something THAT old, it's almost always worth something. Anything from the early 20s that wasn't a FORD is in fairly short supply and the collectors/restorers of those "orphan" marques need all the stuff they can find. dj
I found one like that with a rudementary roadster body on it. Passed it by under the scrubbrush several times when hunting in the JY where it slept. Then one day I get a wild hair to raise her from the dead. Paid $300 for it. Turned out to be a early teens Oakland roadster. Sold it on e-bay for $900. Hardly worth the effort to pull it out. But at least it went to an Oakland enthusiast and was not wasted. What kind of car was the one that sold for so much??
1.77 in October when we came out to NYC it's now 1.44 ! I guess we won't be buying/importing a roadster just yet !
Yea, any car that old has significant historical value. Pre-1905 stuff is always going to be worth something if it has any life left in it at all.
