My wife is in to cars, and I wouldn't have it any other way. She even has her own, a '48 Chevy pickup we've been building off and on for a few years.

My ex-wife HATED cars. Come to think of it she hated everything I loved.

I would love for my wife to say that in either case, meaning my car or the crude double entandra (probably didn't spell that right, but you know what I mean). Sadly neither will likely happen, since my wife doesn't really talk dirty and she sees cars as a means of transportation and nothing else.

  3. To answer the question: How many of your wives have said "I WANT YOUR HOT ROD"...

    My wife always wants mine.

Now, as far as cars go, she doesn't really care, since she has her old car, I can play with my old cars as much as I want to.

The '66 Dodge Coronet 500 I've owned for 32 years...well, she's driven that car three times, not including the time she baby-sat it for a movie shoot three years ago!

  4. Now that does make a difference. I knew a gal that worked at the Bate's Motel, uh once a month.

The truck I'm building now ('38 Chev in my avatar) I'm building for her. She has always been a gearhead (has raced snowmobiles) and has supported my sons and mine car, snowmobile and motorcycle addictions all these years...

She regularily drives my '69 stroker equipped mustang and my sons bottle enhanced Fox body 'stang.... she will sit in a car show all day, and talk cars with the guys, she will sit at the drags with me in the hot summer sun, and will sand body panels with care, she is usually the first across a frozen lake on her sled (only cuz she is so light LOL)....She also looks great on the back of the Harley, and is funny looking as she tries to ride the old bobber I built (still learning)...

I've had probably a half dozen guys tell me how lucky I am to have her, and I am..... no touchy/feely shit here, she just needs a toy of her own.. so IMO my best build will go to her..... :)

My wife likes the cars and a few of the better shows. She complains that I sold "her" car, my old 61' Corvair wagon. Now she claims the Lincoln is hers but she "lets me drive her around in it" and that is fine as long as she doesn't nag about my hobby or my shop time!

Not a car but... A friend was getting a divorce. His soon to be Ex had found a younger man to shack up with. She demanded his gun collection as part of the settlement. The judge told him he had to fork it over. He went home got a large box and took everyone of them completely apart and dumped all the parts in the one large box. On the day he was ordered to surrender his gun collection, he showed up with the box and handed it over. She went balistic and demanded he put them back together. The judge just smiled.

No wife to share any of my toys with anymore.

Funny, I saw this plate on the back of a '90s Taurus around here recently. As I was passing I took a quick look at the driver, big, fat, frizzy haired redhead, huffing on a smoke...My first thought was "if all it took to get rid of her was an old taurus, he made out like a bandit on that deal."
