I just heard that "after what happened last year", they are only allowing finished, "show quality" vehicles in the car show parking area, no "projects" allowed. I am****uming that means shiney paint, kinda like the LARS.

    That will be interesting...

Hey Neal- You gonna shed some light on the "finished cars only" or do I have to wait until Rattle Can for the info? [IMG]

I don't really have any more info, I got that tidbit from someone at the track office when I called for some ticket info. She said the plans/policies for Car Show/preferred parking will be finalized next week when the CHRR event people arrive on Monday/Tuesday.

I did hear some people with "shiney" cars got turned away last year when "unfinished" cars were being let in, and it wasn't event staff that was working the gate.

You might try calling the track office at 661-399-2210, I was planning to call back on Tuesday.

If anybody else hears anything about this, please share.

I hope they work something out.

Neal let me know the word when you find out I don't want to tow the HDK there if I'm not getting in. Is there some pre reg for the show that I missed.

Last year Friday was fine. As usual it was first come, first served for parking in the grove. No problems. Sat morning 1/2 the grove was roped and taped off with a few cars parked in there holding spots for all their friends/members. Those of us who were in line before they opened the gates found we were already too late to get into the grove and were turned around by non track people who said the grove was already full. Then they'd let in their buddies/members that got there behind us.*****, I and others were turned away and had to park way out past the swap meet. Some of the other cars that were turned away were in primer but I guess they didn't have the right club plaque to be first come, first served either. When I walked all the way back to the grove there were still spots but they were taped off. By then, the track people were back at the entrance to the grove and the tape was comming down. A lot of people in some pretty nice cars weren't too happy about getting there way early, waiting in line for hours then getting turned away to make room for late arrivals who had spots saved for them. Never had that problem before at CHRR.

  12. just got off the phone with the track, what it basically boils down to is this, your car needs to move under it's own power, either be finished or an in progress car, as for what the hell that means, you got me, she did say that it is now a car SHOW, and the cars should be of "show" quality, no beat up stockers, no parts cars on trailers, blah blah blah, take it how you like it................

PS- I'll be parked in my swap spot as usual, hiding my beer from all the damn freeloaders! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Guess I shouldn't rag on Roy. After all, when he welded up the frame for me and got Pet & Jakes to build those hairpins the way I wanted them. We were making the prototype for all those cars. Here's mine when I picked it up. He probably built 20 or 30 of them before I got the origional done tho. Money does help.

My car "work in progress" and a lot of other primered cars are on the brochure mailed to promote CHRR. I understand not letting non running cars in and beat up stockers. I had a great time last year and am hoping for even better this year. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

how much does it cost to get your car in?
    mines a primered rpu,
it will***** to drive it 200+ miles,
    and get outside seating.
but if its like 50 bucks to park,
I'd rather park outside in the primer group...
