Since my Merc is a driver, I'm planing on buying the factory seat covers for the T-Bird seats. I've done upholstered panels before and I'm looking to buy diamond or pleated material and do all doors (2), quarters and kick panels myself and possibly a console and package tray about how many yards of material on average do I need? Also if anyone has photos of their wrap around T-Bird seat modification for the Merc, not seats installed but the process to mount. (how the seats are mounted, brackets) the package tray I got figured out. please help me. And since I'm asking a lot, can someone get me a beer and fiddle something for me???
BTW, I've already tried searching the forum for photos, a lot of the older posts used photo sharing sites that are no longer active.
Depending on the size of the console. Roughly 6 yards. As far as mounting the seats, just wing it. Stick um in and figure it out as you go. They have to be a lot better than the last car I worked on with those seats installed.
ZZ, there is an upholstery group in the "antiquated" section. Maybe someone on there could answer your questions.
Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it. I may use the console from the T-Bird, only the sides will be upholstered.
Then get 7. If you mess up, you will have a little extra. Then there`s the trunk area. I always get plenty, you can never get too much. Reorder it and wait another week or they pony up and next day air it.
