Hot Rods how might a "civilian" get a press pass for Bakersfield CHRR???

    once again I will be taking 400-500 pics at the CHRR and of course posting a bunch here on the HAMB. this will be my 3rd year. while the show and pits photos are cool, the way Famoso Raceway is set up it is hard to find a good spot to shoot racing action even with my 300 MM lens.

    I got a pass at Woodward in Oregon once a few years back cuz my buddy was on the crew of a FED that was running. Man that was fun.. and got a bunch of good shots right up close at the starting line. also took some at the top end. 180 MPH seems a lot faster when you are right behind the barrier at the tail end of the track.

    just curious what it takes to get on the other side of the fence when you don't know anybody.

    press credentials... like the Three Stooges who stole the buttons off a cigarette machine. Moe walks through the line and shows his "press" button, then Larry shows his "press" button, then Curly comes through and his button says "pull" and the chase was on. I think it ended in a pie fight. nyuk, nyuk, nyuk...
