Big heads or for the little 60? I saw a set of real nice heads for the big motor go for $6500 at Hershey back about 94 or 95 More now.........
Well, I think they're re-popping them for around $12K (limited runs), so originals are probably worth at least that to someone. Like so many other rare & exotic speed parts whose value has climbed out of sight, they're worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them.
I'm still kicking myself for swapping the V8-60 Audun I had for all the new repo parts to finish a 1932 Ford roadster. Up side I guess it that it will be powering someones '32 roadster in the future. Also had a NOS set of big Arduns that I sold to make the final payment on the plumbing on the house 26 years ago. Ya got to do what ya got to do.
Was a set of supposedly original Ardun's at the NSRA meet in Springfield last weekend. Numbered 200 and 201. $15 grand. Same guy had a set of repop covers, wanted like a grand for those.
[ QUOTE ] A complete running engine here locally, the owner has passed on 12,000. Must be worth Bank. [/ QUOTE ] Complete heads alone are worth that much. A fresh, running engine would be closer to $20k. More if it's got hi-po forged bottom end parts.
A friend of mine bought a used set for 8000$ needs a lot of work. You can get a new set at www.ardun.com for a meassly 12950$
Speaking of kicking oneself, about 25 years ago a guy I worked with invited me over to hone the cylinders of my Model A banger at his shop. He and his dad had been into racing flatties for years and they had 5 sets of Arduns. The life cycle of flathead was at low ebb at the time and they sold off the Arduns for under $500 a pair and concentrated on the Bangers. Bet they're kicking themselves now!
[ QUOTE ] there's a complete motor on ebay for the buy it now of $30,000 [/ QUOTE ]ive heard typically complete motors cost more than that.. id love a set on my car but id rather just build a whole 'nother car
