Just got a 327 bored 60,with flat top pistons with 4 releifvalves and 461 double hump heads ,was wondering how much compression it'll have. Hope this is the right place to post this, thanks Phil:cool:

Way to many variables to say for certain. 327 compression distance should be 1.671, considering the heads should be in the 62cc area, .025 deck clearence and a .018 gasket would put you in the 9.5:1 area.

I just finished putting a very similar 327 together. Be careful if you are using cast pistons as the piston compression height so often times 0.02" less than stock. I wound up taking my block back to the machinist and shaving the decks further so that I'm 0.02" in the hole. I puts 0.015" steel shim gaskets on and wound up with a very tight 0.035" quench (maybe too tight, fingers crossed) and about 9.8:1 compression. I figure the quench will help mitigate the risk of detonation with the iron heads and compression ratio. Still haven't fired her up so can't provide results for you yet. I hope this helps..
