how much do you spend on gas in a month?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by luvzccr, Jul 16, 2008.

  1. I spend as much as it takes to drive me car. I'll walk before I drive a flippin KIA.

  2. being self employed the fuel is added right into a service call in the form of "shield time", time to the job and time back to home. none of my customers bitch because i'm $35 ph. cheaper than the company i used to work for. gotta say $0.00 at this time.

I drive 50 miles/day, 4 days/week to work. ('02 Mustang V6) My wife drives something less than that ('04 Focus) and I bet we still go through $200+ per month. Not bad compared to many of you but still a lot for us to have to pay for. (We're supposed to be retired, but that's a whole 'nother story!)

The diesel F-250 that used to be the rainy day daily so the Mustang could stay warm and dry has been parked indefinitely. That thing could burn $75-$100 worth of diesel a week so it sits.

The bad news is there's nothing left in the budget for any out-of-town trips for the roadster or the Mercury. It's local only for us, for this summer anyway. We've not been to any Goodguys shows this year, and the only reason we went to the NSRA event in Knoxville is because it's less than 100 miles away.

Right now here in East TN, regular is $3.94 and premium, $4.15, and diesel is $4.70.

  4. I'm driving 50 miles each way to work and back home, Dallas to Waxachie  , @ about 12.5 to 13 mpg.
I spend about $1000.00 a month just for myself on gas alone, I drive a 2500 HD chevy truck. Since the truck is not payed off yet, and a payment of $650.00 a month. So, at this rate I feel like I'm paying to have a job. The good news is in the fall I will be getting my transfer to Millisa which is about half the distance and plan on moving even closer to work. Needless to say, It's kicking my ass...........

I stopped driving my 34 pickup to work with 3-2's.
    80 miles both ways @ 10 mpg x 4.00 = 32.00 per day!
I am getting ready to change them over to a progressive linkage.
Hoping to at least bring it up to 16-17 mpg.
    This shit really sucks!

1100-1200 a month, but my job requires driving all over hell and back. I am paid .585 cents a mile though, so the pen is mightier than the sword!

I guess I'm very lucky. I only live 4 miles from work. I spend:

$80 a month for the daily
$60 a month for the cruising the Hot Rod
$50 about once a month on my late model T-Bird racing and driving to and from the Dragstrip

Maybe $200......a little more if I drive my hotrod on the weekends. Most of that is my wife's daily, as I have a company vehicle and I fill it up at work.
If I had to drive one of my own cars back and forth (@50 miles), I think I'd be lookin' for a new job closer to home.

  17. Daily commute is 54 miles. Plus normal running around, chasing parts, lunch from work etc was averaging about $400.00 a month driving the falcon convert and the Ranger. Switched to the Harley Street Glide when possible and it dropped to a little over $220.00
Now riding a BMW R1200RT bike and it's dropped to about $155.00

I'm dropping about $400 a month on gas. I'm a full time student with no real way of working full time, so the cost of gas is crippling me.
