How much does a Flathead Ford weight??

How much does a Flathead Ford weight ? Im told they are heavier than a small block Chevy, Is that true??

 

about 525 lbs with stock heads

 

I believe around 570 for a 239.

 

On the average, they're very close in weight to a sbc---one of the many reasons that the 265/283 became a natural in early Fords. No suspension mods necessary.
