How much is a 48 Anglia worth!!! Quick

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Indocil Art, Nov 10, 2005.

  1. The real deal is you or your dad would never have gotten that car or at least not at a legitmate price, its the oldest hustle in the book. You talk to 'em raise the cash and then the price goes up, then you get the extra cash and Momma rolls up and . . .

A year ago a friend of mine who hustles parts for a living had an all original, right steer, ***le, fire it up and drive it home '48 for 1,200. he was makin' money on it or he wouldn't have had it for sale.

I guess they could mhave gone up that much in a year.

I'm guessing at this but even if it's in the ladies name and the old guy is her husband does that make a difference legally? If they are married he may have some say in selling his wifes stuff. It will give guys a little something back. You know how some wives say I owne 50% because we are married maybe the old guy can say the same. Like I said I'm just guessing and digging for a safe angle for the buyer.

HEY WAIT - READ THIS AND THINK !

I do wish you luck on this but something caught my eye.
This guy said he would promise that the "Old *****" would take $ 2500. but added that the car is in her name so it really is her car and not his.
She and only she can sell the car to anyone.
He can take a dollar or ten thousand- IT DOESN'T MATTER.
The way she sounds, no telling what she wants for it.
The way he descibes the lady makes you think that the honeymoon has been over for 100 years.
If ,and I mean if he sells it to you and you get that car out of there WITHOUT the ***le signed from the lady then there could be heap big trouble.
Bill of sale by him DOES NOT MATTER.

IF YOU DON"T GET THE ***LE - DO NOT- DO NOT remove one number from that car or try to get a new ***le because the lady is the rightful owner and could have you and her loving husband arrested for stolen property and the way the relationship sounds I wouldn't bet against it.
Am I reading this all wrong guys ?

And you waiting untill she leaves doesn't look good either.

And stating that removing numbers and putting it where no one will find it doesn't look good either.

While your intentions for you Dad are honarable, removing numbers from a vehicle trying to get around a ***le issue is not, and who would want your Dad to get all the work done on the car only to have another person do a ***le claim and legal battle.

    Do IT RIGHT.
Remember - it's for your Dad and he's priceless- Right ?

    DO THE RIGHT THING.

    Good Luck,
    Cob

I think you want it so much you are considering comprimising your core values to get it. If I am wrong, then you don't care about theft unless you are the victim. I am not judging you, just trying to remind you if you don't believe theft is right then don't try to justify it this time, because that's what it is......

It's not going anywhere. We're the only ones who appreciate it. Of the 5% of males that know drag racing, 99% think it started with a '67 Camaro. Check back with her and then again in three months. While typing this I saw the HAMB motto at the bottom of the page. "Steal our stuff and we'll kick your teeth in." Last thing you want to do is invest thousands and find out the hubby is as crooked as the wife and they show up to reclaim "their" car.

Kinda makes you wonder how many "Bill of Sale" cars out there that got re-***led with the "Original ***led owner" looking to claim their car.

I don't think I'll ever buy a car again that does not have a ***le.

Last one was a coupe body and frame that had been sitting for over 50 years but anything that runs/wheels/tires and drivable - NO WAY Jose.

The hastle isn't worth it. Even those cheap *** 32's !
