I agree too. I have actually made one of those threads and had a couple members get their shorts in a wad over it. But then later I see the same guys hacking on other people for other things so I fugure that's just their m o

What's the harm? besides, God help us if Epay is going to be the guide we go by.

  3. I just wanted to add my $0.02 here...

In case anyone wondered what this topic was worth...

Which, ***uming this comes up as the 33rd post to this topic, would be exactly 66 cents.

Oh yeah.. WIW posts? A WIW header is a good idea. How else you going to find out if you can't find one for sale somewhere besides eBay? Which is just as wildly subjective as anything else. Don't like it, don't read it. I'd never get anything done if I sat here and read every single post on this board each day, I'd start to look like Michael Moore after a week or so though.

I think you're over reacting. I don't think "What's it Worth" posts are anywhere near the top of the list of posts the HAMB could live without.

WOW! Did I open up a can of worms! From the heated responses I stand corrected. I never meant to insult anyone's knowlege of how much parts or whole cars are worth. Particularly people who are new to customs, hot rods, etc.. I never claimed to be a 'know it all'. The idea of posting in the cl***ified section seems like a good one. Sorry if I pissed anyone off. -stick

BTW does anyone know what a '72 VW beetle with no engine, ******...

I think there are too many of the "old timers" that got their *** spanked in the old days and now just look for every chance they can to say F---YOU to someone. because they paid their dues and they can. I don't have a problem with calling B/S when it really is but what does it hurt to give people the benifit of the doubt instead of ripping into them at the drop of the hat over what is basically not really an offense.

I am pretty sure Michael Moore does read every post on the HAMB.

your view on this is the same way i feel about posts like this. i don't like them. we younger guys/gals need a place to turn when we need help. i thought that is what this board was for.

Since I've been hangin' around here, I've noticed a bunch of younger folks on here who haven't been around rodding for 40 years. As for myself & friends, who have been doing swap meets forever, and jacking with cars since we could hold a wrench, we've got resources to find out what something is worth, if need be. Some of the youngsters ain't got access to the same, expecially if they live in BFE.

they are pretty much harmless, are on topic
and rarely last as long as this type of thread.

    I've been meaning to ask,
I have about a half dozen NIB Olds radio controls, volume and tune, for '50s cars...
    what are they worth?

  12. I like them... because you can kind of see what people value... and stuff changes over time...

These posts mean a lot to guys like me who are not flush with cash, and want to find out what something is worth before we shell out our hard earned money. Likewise, when we go to sell something... we always want to get a fair price, or even TOP price... and we want to know what this is.

People who buy low and sell high, always hate people who buy low and sell high... so you may complain about this one.

Anyway, if anything should be banned... it sould be the "I wish I lived closer to you" phrase in the cl***ifieds.

Maybe it could be subs***uted with "I'm too lazy and poor to actually buy it, but I like it!" :D

    Sam.
