Let's see....if I owned a machine shop, body shop, paint shop, upholstery shop, glass shop, powder coat shop,....... You get the idea...
Realistically, my 40 peek-op would be about 50% "owner built..."

  2. The simple answer to the question is that 100% is 100%.

I suppose that if you are or were the builder then you build it. To try and figure how much of it is just silly you either built it or bought it.

A wise man knows when to delegate. I have been building cars for over 50 years and the later projects are much closer to 100% than the early ones. As the years go by your skill level gets better, I still farm out the machine work and upholstery.

When the job is finished and ready to run there is no shame in crediting others for help, you probably helped them too.

100% owner is when the title is just on your name and is paid for it.

I'm going to throw a turd in the punch bowl here and bring up the term"owner created". I have two finished cars '29 CCPU, a '27 track T and a chopped '31 deluxe sedan delivery under construction. I did a some of the work on these cars, but I also directed the construction so that the finished cars represent my ideas.

These cars have laminated windshield cards giving credit to the individuals that actually did the work when they're displayed.
