Ok I have a lead on my dream engine for my '49. I assumed it was this guys crown jewel (and it still might be), so I never thought to ask if he wanted to sell it. Well I finally asked. He asked me to make him an offer. It's a complete pan to carb + trans '58 (or '59) Merc Maraduer 383cu in. 312hp. Looks to me in good cond. including the nice little marauder valve cover decals. I have a feeling it's outta my league, but what the hell. Might as well try. I might be suprised....again.
thats around what I was thinking. I can't fins info on these engine at all. Anyone have any? Are they rare or just yer average 1958 merc engine? What bellhousing pattern do the share with others?
