Hey! I didn't have time to do that right! I was too busy having another couple of beers, checking out my new tattoos and hooking up a puke tank out of a Papst can!
what's wrong with tatoo's and beer? he probably has rear brakes, anyway you only need brakes to stop.
The term "Snot Rod" comes to mind (Yes, borrowing from Cars) It looks to me that the boogerweld on the shackle mount is pulling away from the mount. Or is that the paint pealing away? It looks like the radius rod is tapped and he is using a nylock nut for a spacer... Darwin Awards contender!!!!!
There aren't even cotter pins in the castle nuts. Show us a picture of the whole car - so we can avoid it when we see it.
my guess would be that he enjoyed a beer or two, then kicked some bits of steel around while his guide dog barked encouragement... imagine having a shunt in that?
Maybe thats how he bought the car - and its only put together enough to screw some ebayer. And now he is now going to fix it. Hopefully. Otherwise I second the insurance Idea.
Ok ,you asked for it,heres another shot ...Sorry about the size but the devil is in the many details .
OMFG...WTF!!!! I want in on the insurance deal. I hope this is just put together enough to get it on a trailer (after someone hopefully got a screaming deal on parts that aren't in the pics) but with the powdered rust on the spring, it looks like someone was driving it. And what's with the shackle and lower rod?? What's that supposed to be, a slam stop?
Yeah, so the wheel, tire, hub and everything can roll further when the axle snaps off outboard of the birdshit, undercut lookin weld.
i wouldnt say those welds are pulling out, id say it was never fused to start with! so glad thats at the top of australia and i am at the bottom
Is this for a class or something? It looks like it was built just to show what not to do, like the title says. No brakes Steering arms WILL flop WHEN those bolts loosens up Steering arm is a piece of flat steel boogerwelded to a bushing Ackerman? Radius rods held on with cheap bolt and a locknut used as a standoff? That shackle has gotta hit the lower radius rod Looks like the shackles are made of flat steel, and not connected from side to side. There are no marks on the bolts holding the shackles on, Grade 2? Grade 3? Grade China? I'm sure there is more... We have 30K people here now, I'm sure some of them can't see anything wrong with those pictures, or not as many as me and you. Lets spread the gospel and teach them something.
