  1. With all this talk lately about our hobby on the way out due to the ages of our members and lack of interest by the younger generation, thought it would be interesting to do a survey of our members ages. Please take the poll.

    I'll start I'm 64

  27. I quit at 29.
I’ve been 29 so long that I’ve convinced everyone that I am including myself. It’s ingrained into every thought and action. I’m so good at it now that some think I’m actually delusional. My wife is now 32, we met when she was 23. She says I keep her young and when I tell her I’m not sure how I feel about being with an older woman now she steps up her game.
The hardest part of doing this is remembering what year I was born because it keeps changing and 1991 will be the new number.

Way back when my grandparents were in their later years and entering nursing homes, I had the opportunity to sit and talk with many different old and wise people. I wanted their wisdom and they were glad to share it for just the asking. I also asked them how they got old while telling their stories. The first response was usually along the lines of “what do you mean?” Then I’d ask everyone the same question the same way,,, “did you get OLD because you quit doing it or did you quit doing it because you got old?” An overwhelming majority said “both - but I got old when I quit doing it”.
