    Street rods bring much more $$ than restored cars do these days...ever noticed the difference in the Barret-Jackson auctions?

    Why would you spend so much money on a body? I would guess that car is going to sell for over 12 grand. what are you going to use the Frame which is worth a 100 bucks and the body that is worth 3 grand? trash the rest? Its not worth much apart.

  9. Why you shouldn't write a car description when drunk, I guess. I mean, maybe it's somebody from Europe somewhere who's new to speaking english, but... WTF is a "hazel" ? Ever had one in one of your cars? I haven't even met anyone named Hazel, much less had her.

    After you chop it, I guess you can show him the key and go too -

    :D :D Already has a non original shift knob, so he can't be too worried about a slight mod such as a chop.

    Buy it and chop it up. Send him a picture of it in its new state with you posing just like he did... smirk and all.

    Then sell him back everything you didn't use and make up some of the money.

    i don't know why but i hate that guy in the picture.

    he had to tell us about his "favorite restaurant" and like you guys said, he posed with his ebay picture for the car.

    kinda weird.

    I can see it now, it's March 2 2025 and the headlines are;

    "Idaho and North Dakota last states to adopt draconian law outlawing the use of any petroleum powered motor vehicle except "as manufactured" original cl***ic cars built before WW II.
    The effect of this law on the decades old street rod hobby and community has been ignored by the political bodies of both the GOP and Dem. parties."

    and in another story;

    "One of remaining original condition Model A Fords sold at Barrett Jackson and Grandsons Auction for 8.4 million dollars. ($8,400,000.00)
    This is one of only 11 original cars known to exist out of the 5 milion built.
    The rest have been either s****ped for the $1600.00 they are worth by weight in iron s**** or *******ized as now undrivable illegal (see other story) street rods."

    There's the difference between rodders and restorers.

    Rodders talk about drivin' 3/4 of the way across the continent for a run !
    This guy's braggin' cause he made it to the fu*#@$% restaurant and back !!

    I really dont think any resto (I dont know if this one is really "mint", but ***uming it is) should be bought and chopped up, not that it wouldnt look better in the end, but because there are plenty of tudors out there that need to be fixed up in one way or another. buy a project that's already been hacked into. To me it's sort of like if some one bought your period perfect deuce coupe complete with hopped up flattie and quickchange rear, just to rip all the goods off, slap on an IFS and IRS, throw in a ramjet and set it to roll on 20 inch boyd coddington rims, when they just could have bought a fibergl*** body or even a repop steel one. Anyone agree?

    I do. I have a mix: restored, totally original and cars I modified. The restored are very good for what they are, the originals are time capsules, and the ones I hopped up are bags of fun.

    It is good that guy got the hazels out, though. A car full of hazels can be a real **** sandwich.

    sometimes it's easier to find a complete car that someone restored but not cherry, than it is to pull one out of a field and work with it.

    but eitherway, my point was, i just wanted to buy it to whipe that **** grin off his face.

    bid $50k for it...let him cream himself for 4 days thinking about how he's gonna spend all that cash...then retract the bid because the car is mis-advertised - it's either a 30 or a 31, not a 29.

    I bet that would turn the grin into nothing more than a forced smile.
