I found a 2 door wagon falcon, it has a factory 260 v8 and a factory 4 speed. I think it is a 64 or 65, just wandering how rare it is. It does not look like many people would buy a 2 door wagon with a v8 and a 4 speed?

I've seen a couple of them.. there used to be a 64 Merc Comet wagon running around town with a 289/4spd from the factory and from what I heard thru the g****vine it was giving new Camaros & Mustangs a fit.

As I have learned The Pre 63 are more rare. Mine is a 61 two door and I have only found one other person with one. But I think they came a little more common after 63. I still think people want them though. I get alot of "how did you get a 2 door wagon!" kind of comments. If the price is right I say yay.......but I am not very partial :)

    Hen's teeth. If it's a 260 it's a '64 -- or a '63, rarer still.

I owned a 63 Falcon Futura with a 260/4spd & 64 Sprint 260/4spd. Had the 63 in 1965 so I know the motor was correct besides it had 260 badges on it.

There's a Falcon wagon, alongside a Ranchero, and another similar car here in a local U-Pull salvage yard. PM me if you're interested in either of them, as they are just being stripped for parts and will eventually be crushed.

I know where a 63 Sprint is sitting right now with the factory 260 & 4spd. Saw another just yesterday at a swap meet too.

The one that is sitting has been haunting me lately.

they put 260's in 63's i had one too.

  17. There's one just down the street from my Wife's parents, in a guys yard, under a tree with the front suspension dismantled...like it has been for 15 years now....

"My son's gonna rebuild it next summer" has been the standard answer I have gotten every time I ask him if its for sale....

My grandmother drove one through the mid 1970's. It was a neat little car.

The 260 was standard in the '63 Falcon Sprint, optional in others, standard in the '64 Falcon Sprint and Fairlane, optional in other Falcons.

Two-door Falcon wagon production by year:]
    1960 27,552
    1961 32,045
    1962 20,025
    1963 11,591
    1964 6,034
    1965 4,891

No two-door Falcon wagons after '65

i think any 2 door wagon would be rare anyways. then you add the hot rod spin to it and thats when it would get real interesting. i would bet there are fewer than 100 of those cars ever built if that many, especially if it was a 64 or 5 model.

    Falcon 2-door wagons were fairly common in their day. 260 V8's were introduced in mid-1963. I've seen V8 4-door '63, '64 and '65 wagons, but never a V8 2-door '63. No V8 2-door wagon was ever common.

I can't recall whether I've ever seen a '64 V8 2-door. I've seen a couple of '65s (which were 289s from the factory). A factory 4-speed in any of those would be super rare, although I knew of a couple of factory V8 4-speed Rancheros.

I think a V8 4-speed could have been ordered in any of the three years, '63-'65, but I spent a long time looking for any V8 2-door wagon back in the late '60s, and I reiterate that they are hen's teeth.

  26. I'm not trying to hi-jack this thread and I apologize to willis if I'm out of line asking this in his thread. But, while all you guy's are focussed on V8 Falcon wagons:

Would all the under hood and front suspention stuff from a '67 V8 Falcon wagon fit a '61 wagon?

Yes the 2 doors confirmed are very very rare, buy it and drive it

  28. Sure it aint a pinto?

  29. Even if it is a Pinto, probably no more than 10% of those production numbers exist. I've seen an early Falcon panel, but no 2-door wagons.
