very very nice... I am using a stock 4sp from the 750il. I was told the motor and ****** from the 850I and the 750IL are the same. I have seen adapter plates to use a later model 6spd BMW manual. My only problem with my set up is I am not using any of the stock BMW computers and as you might know the BMW automatic is computer controlled. As far as I know, I have talked to many many BMW mechanics and they have told me that my transmission will not shift on its own without the computer I will have to shift it manually. Im ok with that. BMW also uses a locking torque converted that is once again computer controlled. I will looses this feature. It is supposed to engage at hwy speed to make 4th gear a true 1 to 1 for increased gas mileage.

I see that you installed your intake backwards for a rear facing throttle bodies. If you want to stay injected and not run the stock computers you can run a stand alone engine management system but that gets extremly costly. MegaSquirt has a set up that will let you stay injected, but you will loose the transmission controlls. their system is under $1000 but not much. Check out some of the Lamborghini Kit Kar web sites alot of those guys have used this motor all of their motors are still injected.
A friend of mine has one of these motors in a 89 Lola F1 car that has a beautiful custom made Hilborn style fuel injection set up on it. 12 stacks.... looks amazing

I will send you a PM with my phone number feel free to call me with any questions you have.

Here's a coincidence. Just last weekend this car got wrecked while on its' way to a local car show. The newspaper article didn't blame poor visibility for the crash.

  5. My T's not channelled either, but due to low ride height the engine sits high in the ch***is, so the top of the HEI is flush with the top of the cowl. Add a crossram and six 94's, even without aircleaners and the whole lots higher than the screen posts!!

You just might want to inquire with the local law enforcement guys...worst thing that could happen might be getting your ride impounded. Around here, municipalities/cities have many infractions that will cause your vehicle to be impounded instead of a fix it ticket. Might be worth just asking....

I would wager that if you got an electrical schematic for the trans, you could figure out the torque converter lockup. I have yet to see one that is not just a simple circuit downstream end. It might be driven by a computer, but at the converter end, it is probably just a solenoid.
