How the heck does this 1926 Dodge headlight come apart?

I bought a 1926 Dodge Brothers coupe, and it has the original headlights mounted to the grille shell. I can't find a screw or anything that holds the retainer ring onto the headlight bucket. It looks like it may just snap on and off, but I don't want to destroy it by doing something wrong. ;)

Anyone out there have any information on dis***embling this headlight?

Push in evenly about 3/16 then turn left.

Wow.......it pays to ask an expert!! :D Thank you for that information. Next time I get a chance, I'll give it a shot. Thanks again!

  4. If your '26 rims are anything like '28 Dodge, be gentle with them- they are spun, thin, and prone to cracking.

Those Dodge rims AND the housings are awful thinner and crack-prone. Most 20s and earlier light rims come by turning if there are no visible fasteners.

Thanks for the info, gentlemen! The rings are paper thin....I plan to soak the clips with PB Blaster before doing any twisting. ;)
