Well one good thing I don't have windows or a opener on my door. In fact I don't have any windows in my garage. All my doors are locked ,,,,,,,,,, well I'm not telling how my garage is locked up.

C clamp your doors, put hasps with expensive locks on your door, put 4x4s on your door ends so they cant use a car jack to pop the ends, brick garage no windows, lots of lights. Still get broke into.

Drill a hole in the track for the door between 2 rollers and put a nice big padlock on it. You can only open it from the inside, but then they cant do that.

    My daddy taught me somethin!

i have a friend that had an "x" army -air force dog that stayed in his garage ! he wouldnt bark or make any noise /while you are breaking in ! once you are in he will be very vicious and back you into a corner /all the time nibbling at your body very lightly /any where from your chest nupples to your knees! and is always trying to "nip" at your "BOYS " he came in one morning ,and found a very nibblled up minority fellow begging to be arrested and go to jail , and confess to every crime he had ever committed !!!!! cops wanted to award dog with steaks ! the dog is now deceased ,and my buddy is looking for another dog like him !

I side bolt all my over head doors. And 1st rule to me is No Windows!

But that is disturbing, and useful information. for those people who use their garages as just storage and thought windows would help with lighting, or use it daily with a garage door opener and think its locking their house when they leave.

Kinda makes that remote to open the garage door seem not so important. Glad my garage doors are manual and unlock from the inside only. I read a post on another sight where some rich guy was whining about possibly not being able to take his garage remote with him on the plane to fly to another state to pick up his new Lexus. He wanted to be able to drive home, open sesame and drive into his garage. As if getting out of the car and going through the front door of the house is soooo fucking hard to do.

Six seconds with practice.. probably took 30 seconds the first try. A good warning though. I have no opener on mine since I couldn't fit a whole car into it, so why bother? With the wireless alarm and well-thought out locks mine is secure enough. You'd have to drag the door off with a tow truck to get in.

How about a 90 deg length of sheet metal mounted inside and above the door that would deflect these trip wires downward and keep them from reaching up to the release lever? Or...? Gary

Use some masking tape to block the coat hanger and tie up the loose cord. And in an emergency the tape will give up easily when you pull the cord.

I put 2 inch long lag bolts in the holes of the tracks of my garage rollers so it cannot be opened at all from the outside more than a couple of inches.I have to come in from the back side to remove the bolts and roll it up.
