  2. There is a lot of science involved in hinging a trunk lid. Its not too difficult for me, because I am a design engineer, and can lay it all out on a computer or a drafting board. Most hotrodders prefer that the hinges be hidden, and as a consequence it gets pretty tricky to have the hinge below the surface of the daisy panel, have the trunklid so that it will open far enough to be serviceable, and not have it bind and scrape paint off its edges or the edges of the opening when opening and shutting. My advice is to study the operation of hidden hinges on a car door.---All the pivot points are below the surface of the front fender, yet the door still opens wide and doesn't bind. The big secret is to keep the pivot of the hinge as close to the inside of the daisy panel as possible.---You want the entire trunklid, including the top edge to swing out and away from the body as the trunklid opens.---Brian

Has anyone tried this with a 26 or 27 Model T Coupe? I'm wondering what your experiences were and if you have any tips.

doesnt look hard, but you might have to consider the crown in the center of the lid if similar to the Model A's.
