My buddy bought a '56 Chevy COE from a seller in Montana. We're in Pennsylvania. Part of the auction price was a delivery fee. I guess the seller didn't do any home work. He really doesn't have anyone in mind to ship and the price he just whipped up. My buddy has the title and would like to get the truck to PA soon. I see people on occasion here posting about hauling. Are there any regular haulers here? Even the guy looking to make a few bucks? Trying to connect with a one way hauler from Montana to Lebanon, PA.

    Thanks,

  2. PM BenD here. There are a couple other HAMBers that haul as well but I forget their names.

I had Rick Powell haul my 34 pickup (in parts). from Phoenix to north Alabama and he did a great job at a reasonable price. I know his Trailer was stolen, but I would hope he is back in business. He is a member. His number is 864-324-1571

  8. Doug,

A COE can be a heavy oversized load.

    It is Winter in Montana.

Your friends' best bet is to ask the auction house or someone local where he bought the truck about a hauler based close to where the truck is.

Relying on a 3 day window of no snow in forecast, my son and I made the 18 hr drive from Los Angeles,CA to Bozaman,Montana to pick up a 1951 chevy converible.....Now I understand why I couldn't find anyone to haul this car out of Montana ,in winter for under $1600.00...snow everywhere..although the plows stay on top of the roads.Plows can only do so much, and don't necessarily plow the areas you need to go..my advise is wait till spring or pay the price to have someone haul it out...

sometimes your lucky you can find a flatbed outfit that is coming back empty from the oil fields who wants to make some cash for the back haul or coming out of the upper west coast , you can contact some carriers direct , also you can broker some like ABF if someone can get the truck to a terminal to load it into the trailer and block it in place with pallets or tie it down ( it must go in heavy end front ) we used to transport tractors in them 26' pups just fold the mirrors down or take them off and roll the windows down to get in and out of the truck . the little pup trailers can take 24,000 of loads .

I used this guy to haul my 46 parts car from Illinois to Florida. He did a great job and was about half what people on the hauling sites were quoting:

Affordable Transport, hauling parts, pieces, or whole cars. 1-765-506-1544.

He goes out west very often and will go anywhere. Nice guy, and a member on another forum I am on. He got my 46 here very quickly.
