How to convert engine size????????

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Luke Jivetalker, Sep 13, 2003.

  1. what is the formula for converting engine size to CID? For example, a truck I am looking to buy has a 4.8L V-8, what size is this in CID?

  6. 4.8 X 61.02 = 292.9 cu. in.

Keep in mind that the 4.8 figure is only approximate. It has been rounded off. To accurately calculate actual displacement you need the bore, stroke, and number of cylinders.

    Hotrodphotos, the formula is: bore x bore x stroke x # of cylinders x .7854 = displacement.
