what is the formula for converting engine size to CID? For example, a truck I am looking to buy has a 4.8L V-8, what size is this in CID?
Here's a good online converter Skip. http://www.sciencemadesimple.net/EASYvolume.html I used it to determine that 4.8L is equal to 324.615 tablespoons. This one is good too... http://www.sciencemadesimple.net/fruit.html
4.8 X 61.02 = 292.9 cu. in. Keep in mind that the 4.8 figure is only approximate. It has been rounded off. To accurately calculate actual displacement you need the bore, stroke, and number of cylinders.
What are common volumes of "measuring spoons" in a metric kitchen? is a tablespoon still just a table spoon?
While we're on the subject..I have a 402 ci Big Block chevy thats been bored out again by .030..what would its displacement be now? Spike

hot rod photos to find displacement Bore times bore times .7854 times number of cyls times the stroke a 402 o30 over 4.155x4.155x.7854x3.76x8=407.85 or round off 408 I hope this helps
