Can anyone help me figure this out? I do not see any snap ring or ring holding the cylinder end to the cylinder however the cap/cyl end rotates in the cylinder. Tried pushing the end down hoping for a hidden ring but no luck there. Service manual is useless. Thanks, Al
The service manual worked perfect for me. A shop tried it twice then I did it with what were called “quad seals” I bought on EBay but I think he died. The exploded illustration in the service manual was perfect.
All I have is a Motors Manual. Any hints how the end puck releases from the cylinder? Everthing else should be a breeze.
It was 10 years ago but nothing I remember was tight enough to drive out. Can’t help you there with what’s in Motors… Pgs 195-200 in the service manual guided me thru the complete process. I’ve used both books for so many repairs it hard to count. The illustration is good for every number and part. The service is better for fixing. I just layer out each part in a line and didn’t mix anything. Good luck. I think many parts suppliers sell the manuals. Concours, Larry’s Thunderbird, Mac’s, C & G, etc…
If you are after the internal seal, there are companies that can cut, repair and re-weld the cylinder. https://www.larescorp.com/Part/31
