As the old school song went; "give me 40 acres and I'll turn this rig around". Only joken. Take in the previous advice on driving. That g***er I had in the 60s, was driven from North Carolina to New York and back with a 4:56 gear and locked rear.(Back then gas was cheap) Only thing I hurt was a couple of roller lifters on my Chet Herbert cam and they made good for it.

Run it! You will fine! I just laugh when "Naysayers" say u can't run a linclon locker, mini spool, or a spool on the street. Let us know how it goes, and prove the "naysayers" wrong!!

So should I worry about the 1/8" play in the one axle or not? Its the driver-side, but that doesn't make any difference.

play in/out? you said you haven't gotten the drums off yet- have you backed off the brakes using the s**** slot in the backing plate? If so then it sounds like it's just the drum frozen to the hub. take a hammer (deadblow if yer overly cautious and give 'er some whacks in between the wheel studs (dont hit them and booger the threads).

Ok, you didn't state that before. Sorry, then NO you should have no play in the axles on a 9" as the bearing is pressed onto the end of the axle and held in place with a plate. If you want I can PM you my phone #, I'll explain my expertise and you can listen if you want.

Thread the wheel nuts back onto the studs before the hammer work. cheap insurance against f'ed up threads.

  10. I driven spool cars on the road not a big deal but the car does take a bit more effort to change lanes.

Okay so it's been in there for about 150 miles now and the only difference I can tell is that I can do awesome donuts. It's fun and hasn't gotten me in trouble yet.

  12. Glad to hear you got it fixed and you're not having problems.
