how to get the soliniod off the starter? gm

    alright guys
    in a mad dash last effort im trying to get this dam ford on the road or at the least running and stoping

    i got insunace on it and now i cant just have it siting around doing nothing.

    so heres my question im going to atemp C9s fix for the starter but in order to do that i need to pull the solinod off of the starter, with out pulling the starter

    how does a gm solniod atach to the starter?

    got till saturday to be rollin :S or else e-bay or a mass HAMB intervention and you guys come over and walk me threw this like a 5 year old

  2. chevy's have two 1/4" bolts holding on the solinoid....the inner one is hard to get if the starter is still on motor. then you give it a little twist to release the little tab that helps hold it on

    are they on the sides or the ends?

    Just take the starter off and it's easy. You probably need to also put brushes in the starter anyway.
