Hey guys...thought I'd share this... clock would run...then clock wouldn't run... then it would. Soooo.. took it all apart and examined and "think" I fixed it. Pretty easy, but "tiny" work.....

can't recall the exact name, but i googled automotive clock repair and found one really good site. it seems that there are a set of "points," much like in a distributor, that get burned and need to be filed down. it also shows how to fab new ones. it seems that the innards of a car's clock aren't all that mysterious!

My '50 Coupe had a windup clock! Used to blow people's minds when I'd wind it...

great info - most of us give up on clocks without trying to repair. gas gauges are another common problem.

Thanks, Dan.. I addressed the "resurfacing" of the "points" in the text that is under each picture. I'd have to say, at least for me, fabbing "new" contacts is out of the question, given the small spaces where they are located.
