So, I would like to hook up both Holly 1904's on my Fenton intake for my 215/223 inline six ford, any one got pics or diagrams?? 1953 ford car for refrence.... Thanks...............Roach.
Ya know, I went through the whole inline six thread, and no clear pic of the bellcrank at all!! Man some one has to have a pic or diagram???
why don't you post a pic of what you have so far. I built some likage or the dual cartes on a fenton for my Plymouth, but I cant visualize your Chevy.
Hey roach your just down the hill from me. What you got going tomorrow or sunday. We can possibly meet up and you can look at the linkage in person. My 59 has dual 1904's. Eric
Thanks Plym, its a FORD..... And CG Kid, I dont have any linkidge, I will have to fab every thing, I am driving the car now so dont want to have it off the road and not beable to get around ya know, so I need Pics or diagrams of what the transfer belcrank would look like so I can make one with out guesing in the dark....
Ugly but effective using the stock linkage to the bell crank, then hardware store stuff to the carbs. Heim joints are from a go cart supply place. (Didn't mean to disparage your Ford by calling it a chevy)
Yeah... Wow, no when I had my 51 ford with the flathead six, that would have been interesting. My six is OHV so I have to rout mine a little diferent, with the parts carbs and just one car linkedge I am going to have to preeasemble before tare down, if I had some thing else to drive other than my softail then I could take a week to figure it out!? But CGkid is comeing down the hill with his 59, same motor so I should get a good idea and pics/drawings. thanks for the pics man.....
The falcon and truck I-6 Ford engines used a bellcrank that mounted along side of the intake below the carb. Do a search on e-bay to see if that would work.
I had the same set up on a 60 Ford, youll need to make a piece that goes from each carb, then I used apart of the stock linkage to actuate it
Kool, CGkid and I are going to hook up for lunch and I will takes pics and notes, The thing is I need numbers so I will bring a tape messure as well. Thanks for the replys.......Roach.
All Right! Big Thanks to CGKid! He gave me a copy of the Offy Instructions and let me take some pics of his set up on his sweet looking 59!!
I cant find the pics! dang it! I'll keep lookin guys...its been like 6 or 7 years ago when I was runnin dual aces...
It would seem to be EZer if the linkage were on the same side so they just hook together, but would need adoptor to swing them
Try for rigid bracketing, preferably a long piece of steel spine that both carb pivots anchor to. Any swinging arms must be rigged to operate equidistantly: (in a 30 degree sweep, they must start at 15 degrees and end at 15 degrees either side of center) Throttle arm ratio should be 'under driven', rather than 'over driven'. Plan carefully, install return spring so as not to instill side-forces on throttle shaft bushings at carbs. Also, most important: use ball joints or something similar with threaded adjustments at carb links: infinite synchronization is possible. When carbs open smoothly and in sync, no backfiring at carbs condition is achievable.
Will any of these help you for visual purposes? I have plenty more where these came from. I do this work frequently. Normbc9
I got the pics of the 1904 set up from CGkid on his 59, and the instructions from Offy from him, Being able to see the setup inperson helped... The 1904 throtle shafts are in the wrong position then the 94's.....
any way to scan those offy instructions for all to see? Or post the pics? trying to sort mine out as well. Thanks in advance!
