    I specifically am wondering what modifications need to be done to the rear suspension after converting to a open driveshaft

    It depends if you want to keep the stock banjo rear or go with a later rear. If you want all bolt in option you can get the front split wishbone hit and trans plate, along with parallel rear spring kit thru Chassis Engineering ( now part of Heidts) or Weedeater. There also several others who have kits. If keep the banjo rear convert to open drive you’ll need some type of radius rod setup to replace the torque tube.
