raven61 showed last Wed. and it was on the moment he stepped out of his truck. He was measuring, I was cutting and welding, and my car had a motor within a few hours. Until now it has always been me hammering it out by myself in the garage or driveway - scratching my head and**** and then coming into work the next day with a list of stupid questions to post here. It's unbelievable how much more gets done with two people. I don't have the opportunity to think myself into a corner this way.

Working conditions aren't really quite "rock and hacksaw" bad in my garage, but we managed to fabricate some decent mounts (that need finish work yet) and get the flatmotor in with little more than a 4" grinder and a drill that is well on it's way out. I got to show my skills at making chopsaw straight cuts with the sketchiest of hand tools. The hoist Dusty dropped off the week before made things quite a bit easier too. Thanks Dusty.

So here it is. The pedal****embly goes in next - I'm rebuilding it. Then the seats and steering. I've got a big middle finger with a smile behind it for those who said they would be there and didn't bother. [IMG] Your loss, I bought dinner and it was good. Thanks again raven - oh yeah, this is his photo.

Let me tell you gent, this man has never seen anyone who can use a 4" angle cutter as well as Grimlock.
If his hand is that steady with a cutter, I can't wait to talk him into doing some stripping on one of my jalopies...
I had the time of my life working on his roadster.

Feeling guilty? You at least stopped by at lunch and hung out and laughed at me until I broke down and bought a hole saw! Haha. The "others" didn't bother - so peek over at Chris and tell him I said "Fuck you". We were done and off to Sol Azteca before sodbuster found time to stop by.

I've been showing Amelia a picture of you and then pinching her - I think she'll hate you more than me. [IMG]

edit - Oh yeah, thanks for the chain sod, as you can see it was needed.

Skipped over your intro - didn't realize you were in KC. Next time I plan something I'll try to make it on a weekend so Ryan doesn't get mad at me again.

Here's a couple more pictures....this is the mount before I was convinced to part with some money and buy a holesaw. You don't want to know what I had planned before that.

Heres a different view sitting in front of the house. The scallops were an early thought. They will not happen. All of the welds will get knocked down and filled over if they need it. The bottom patch panels are Howell's and the back corner you can see poking out from behind the rear tire was made by hammeredabone out in CA to fill in the hole left from the sedan wheel well. It fit every bit as well as the Howell's pieces. The blue stuff in the background is the front sheetmetal.

The highlight of our day was when OJ stopped by and helped for a bit.

    Grim,
Look at the wheel blocks in the side shot.
I'm surprised that it didn't roll...

I'll definitely post more once I yank the motor again and finish them off. But right now I'm working on pedals and steering.

They're dead simple though. 2x3 tubing cut to length, slotted to fit over the rail if you need to, and drilled with a one inch holesaw for the biscuit. They're just tacked in right now and I've done nothing to make them look better so there's really not much more to see than what is pictured. Give me a few more weeks to get everything worked out and they'll be worth looking at.
