Technical How to make drip rails or wheel opening mouldings

    I wonder if using an automotive adhesive might work better. The epoxy based ones add the corrosion resistance and would make sure the area was completely sealed off to water getting in there.

    In the first post you said
    So, are these drip rails aluminum or steel? I ***ume steel since you mention welding them in place. Also, what gauge material?

    The aluminum piece in the pictures was a prototype piece. We made that to see if my idea would work. then we decided to try it in steel. The steel was surprisingly easy to bend.

  7. Good stuff to know.

    Spent a few minutes going through the project pictures on your website. Doesn't look like very much of that coupe will actually make it's way into the final product. Impressive effort.

    Sometimes these basket cases are like George Washington`s hatchet. The handle was broken so it was replaced. Then the head was damaged,so it was replaced with another one. But this is the very same hatchet he chopped the cherry tree down with when he was a child.
    At least we had something to start with, those aircraft restoration guys only need the serial number plate to begin with.:)
