Safety cap should have prevented that. Didn't work?

Once I got over the initial shock, and some swearing, I was surprised that it wasn't worse. This was on an OT truck, full temperature and pressure. I had my hand on the hose, so it was only a couple of feet away. It burst, and I got a shower of antifreeze, my glasses kept it out of my eyes, but there wasn't enough airborne fluid to really injure. The loss of pressure seemed to just stop everything. It wasn't like getting hit with a bucket of fluid, just a quick spray.

Not an experience I'm looking to repeat, but not as bad as I'd thought something like that would be.

your lucky Dave as a steam flash can be a real bad burn , think of blanching a tomatoe thats what its like . when I worked in the boiler room we were always aware of the burn dangers from it under pressure and wet .

Bad things always happen when your "biggest fan" shows up...

  6. I had a bud who thought it was funny to toss 2 warm water and maple syrup balloons inside the shop, when they popped in the big fan, it went everywhere, it was really amazing to see all the stuff that was sticky and how far that shit reached.
