Yeah my wife says my organization skills suck !:D I have a 30 x 40 x 12 and it looks like a bomb went off most of the time. Looks like you have a good system going.

  2. With a nickname like caffeine I was wondering where the garage coffee maker was . . . then I saw the hot and cold water thing.

    Nicely organized tool box.
Nothing quite like being able to see at a glance that somethings missing.

Fwiw, I've been using large and small tuna cans to store 3/8" & down sockets in.
As well as Crows Foot wrenches, allen & torx sockets etc.
Makes for pretty good organization and things are easy and quick to find.
They're short enough that they fit into the shallow rollaway boxes and the ready made Sears workbenches.

Beautiful! My wife and I will be moving soon and I'll get my first garage, so it's nice to see one organized and realistic. (I'm hoping to find a 2 car). Now that it's clean and organized I'd start thinking security. The welder looks a little too easy to roll out. Maybe build some doors for your work bench? Looks great though.

I like your concept. Garage space is working space not storage space. Working space is more valuable but we seem to really need less of it than storage space. Keep it clean it looks great!

You have inspired lots of people today. I tend not to pick up after myself while I am building. tools are always put up, just small pieces. Good job. I use the craftsman socket holders that are black, and add extra pieces. :)

yeah all my storage is in the loft right above my head..the ceiling is low....nd since its a small space i didnt wannt put TOO many things on the walls like shelves, im only going to put up 1 or 2 shelves and call it a day.

im also not a hardcore build a car from scratch always welding type of guy so that helps.

its been SO nice to rebuild that triumph motor in there.

even with the toolbox like that i STILL cant ever find the tools i need hehehee.

i guess im pretty anall, sometimes when im rebuilding that motor i just have to stop and put ALL the tools away and "start over" as there ar ejust way too many tools out and crap gets messy.

  15. Nice setup Rob!I wish I was that organized but then I might not get ANYTHING done!BTW you should have one SOFT wall for hurling things against when you f**k up.

Just out of curiosity is that a gas-fired ceramic heater?Looks like the two I have in my garage(30,000btu each). If it is,make sure you have a slight air leak somewhere in the garage or they will run terrible.I used to seal my garage tight(clamp the doors shut so there was no air gaps, etc.)and if they can't vent they run very rich.Nothing like excess hydrocarbons to chase you out of the garage!

    See ya in Detroit.

I do not know how you do it with a one car garage. My 3 car (thou one side is the wifes.. she gets to store the ladders, lawn mower and edger on her side) dived between my 2 sides and the wifes one side.. 2 sides for car stuff is full.

I spent today building a new work bench on wheels to move around when I need more space. The bottom is my old car body dolly with a heavy duty bench mounted on top (it is removable the next time I need to put a body on the dolly) and I plan to mount my grinder on the end and scrap metal and wood on the back side of the bench so everything is nice and organized...
