Do a search, I have seen several posts with the spring attached to the wish bones.

Hi ,I've noticed this question asked a few times and know one answers so I'll do it..LOL!
Back in the day,we used to just cut the spring mounts off the front of the wish bones ,drill a hole behind the axle then mount the spring to the welded parts .It works well and looks nice and clean ( if you do it right..:D )
Heres a clearer explantion from a very old book on the subject.

Mind if I ask what book or mag that is? It looks like a good article to have.

I did mine the same way they're showing in that book. Seems clean and strong but I haven't driven the car yet so I can't tell you how well it works.

That article is from an old (I think '64) series of articles in Car Craft?? One thing that might be kinda difficult doing it that way is that I think they say the holes in the radius rods need to be drilled at a 7 degree angle, not quite sure how'd I'd do that on a drill press with a table that doesnt tilt? I suppose just lift up the end of the rod and clamp it somehow?
When doing it this way (spring behind axle) can you use the spring that came with the axle or do you have to use a Model A (shorter) spring??
