    Hi guys,

I FINALLY got around to finishing the welding table.

I burned through a couple of times through the box steel...must have had the heat up to high. The MIG was zapping nice and steady and then...bank...no more sapping and burn through. The metal was all cleaned up real good so it was not rust. Learning experience I guess.

I am still disappointing with the durability of the rattle can paint. Went to Tractor Supply and got enamel primer and paint and still the paint will kinda scrape off the metal with a fingernail...like scraping an Oreo cookie cream center. I shook it real good and did a few thin coats. Grrr.

At least the table rolls around the shop floor and it is proven to hold up something as heavy as a beer...

Ya'all can come by check it out and drink beer for a little show and tell...

If lostone stands a little too close to my jug of 20W-50 with that "distant stare" in his eyes he just might be asked to leave...

    THANKS again Ya"all!!!

    looks good!

Usually paint adhesion problems are from not quite good enough preparation...although sometimes, it's from the paint, or not letting it dry enough. If you sand with the correct grit, and clean with a good solvent first, it should stick.

021.jpg 020.jpg I have two tables at home 5x8 and 4x8 both are 1" thick and have the mill scale on them.
The fab shops I've worked in have tables 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" thick and all have the mill scale on them after years of welding 8 hrs a day. The mill scale does not present a problem and all the tables have ground straps to them so you don't need to ground anything thats welded on the tab
