Hey guys so I think I've found the issue to my OD on my 54 customline. It was the wiring harness. Anyway I just wanted to see how to use the OD properly. From what I was told that the OD when not in use should be pulled out. When you want to use the OD you simply wait till your mph's are between 25 & 35 then push it in and let off te g*** to allow the OD to kick in? Is this correct? Does my speed really need to be between those speeds or will It work no matter what speed?

    Thanks for te help.

You have it now, and you are right about the speed. I used to take the car up over fifty before letting it into OD. It will go in sooner, it will go in in second gear too. Play with it, its a fun new toy. Be sure to take it out of OD when you park the car, it could roll away. Be sure to take it out of OD when you want to back up, it should do that for you if all is right inside, but why take the chance.

If I remember right, reverse is the only gear OD won't work in. When I had mine, I would put it in reverse when I parked because it would roll if left in any forward gear.
I could also run first gear up to about 40 in OD.

Ok awesome. So I don't need to put the OD in only between 25-35? I cam drop it in at 50 and it will still work?

Yes, while the engine is pulling the car, push in the lever. Then, let off the gas untill it says "clunk". Then it will be in OD. To get it out of OD, floor the accelerator, then pull the handle out. Or when you come to a stop pull it out.
