How to question on chopping a 32 sedan.

Ha ha, you go man go.
I know what happens, I just don't know if it takes 10 door swings or 1000. But I'd bet its closer to 10 than it is to 1000.
Do how you see fit, just sharing my first hand troubles in hopes to save someone else some aggravation and triple work.

 

Hey ken, here's how far the doors open without any bind at all. I also plan on making some limiters so it doesn't open any farther. This is plenty enough room to squeeze my fat *** in there.

 

In a perfect world you should be able to drop a rod from the top hinge through the bottom hinge,Hotrodding is not a perfect world, if you move the hinge down below the beltline, it would look like some thing Boyd Coddington would build,not what Sam was after, We looked at a lot of ways to solve this problem and the simple solution was to not open the door all the way, there is little or no bind at about 60% on door opening, and that is plenty unless you have one big fat*** girlfriend, if you do get rid of that ***** and the money you save on groceries will buy car parts!!! Hotrods should be loud, Fast as Hell , A little bit dangerous and little rough around the edges!! Chris
