my dear friends, i am looking at restoring my first F1 truck which came to me all day way from nebraska....i have done all the majort rust repairs but will now likew to remove the cab to detail the frame.

How do i remove the cab?

What do i need to watch out for? will te steering column be a problem?

its a three on the tree, so will there be any issues with cables to the ******?

If anyone can or has a step by step guide it will be very appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

There should be a bolt on each side next to the front a pillar and a bolt on each side on the front edge of the cowl. This one I believe is on the engine bay. You then have an arm on each side in the back that connects to the side of the frame which is prone to crack. You can leave the column on if you have something high enough to lift it with to clear. And then you have the usual fuel lines and wiring etc.

You can also unbolt the steering box from the frame and let it swing down so that all you have to do is walk the cab to the back of the frame. There is a plate on the floor around the column that will have to be removed. This plate is a couple of pieces and remember how you took it apart.

The steering wheel will have to be removed with a wheel puller.

X2...there are quite a few truckers on the FTE from the land of OZ, you may just find some local blokes there to help you.

the pedals also will get hung up on the floor. you have to kinda tilt and lift it past them while watching not to scratch the firewall. hang a blanket over the engine.
