I have a chance to buy a lincoln dash - '40 Zephyr, but it is in a car sitting in a field. Is this dash fairly easy to remove? What tools should I anticipate using? I tried the search but found nothing... Thanks in advance!
Torch. Just kiddin, if it's anything like the 55 olds dash I pulled it'll be a bear, too 3 hours by myself and another 1 the next day with my pop. I took a big chisel/hammer, hacksaw and plenty of screwdrivers and sockets so i could remove any brackets. I chiselled all the way around the window seal and got the defrost vents aswell. Hope that helps you...
It should be held in the same way that the Ford dash is held in. I'd pack the usual assortment of screwdrivers plus an assortment of smaller sized wrenches. If you have an impact driver take that along. A can of PB Blaster and a can of wasp/yellow jacket spray. Plus a hammer, chisel and hack saw just in case.
