Did a search for the answer but could not find a thread on this. I'm installing a shaved door kit on my 52 chevy two door sedan. Finished up on the drivers door last night and now need to removed the outside door handle. I would have thought there would be a bolt holding it in but could not find one. How do you take these handles off? Will also post a tech thread on how I mounted everything up.
awwwww I did see that and tried to pop it out with a flat head. So when the door is open the there is a slot where the handle is and there is a metal plate that comes out. This piece needs to be pulled out? Mine is all rusted so time to get some wd40 on it!
i use a long piece of 1x1 steel and a hammer. slide the steel in so its vertical and right up against that plate and hit it with the hammer to slide it back. works everytime for me.
Sprayed some WD40 and let it sit on there for an hour. Then got a pry bar and popped them out. Once it moved it did not take much to get out. Man it looks so much better now!!!
